A public directory is useful when a reader can tell what a record asserts and what it does not. This page is the key to the fields used in AKZERT’s directory.

How to look

Open the public directory and search by the legal name of the body, by an accreditation number if you have one, or by words from the scope. Filters narrow the list by standard, technical field and status.

Open a record to see the scope, the dates, the status, the scope document where one has been published, the date the record was last verified, and the audit trail of changes that have been approved for publication.

Fields in a record

Legal entity
The body that holds the accreditation, named as a legal person.
Accreditation number
The identifier assigned to that accreditation. It is unique within this directory.
Norm
The standard against which the body was assessed for the scope shown.
Fachbereich
The class of conformity assessment activity, such as calibration or inspection.
Scope
The activities covered. Work outside this text is not covered by the record.
Issue date and expiry date
The dates that bound the record as published. They are read with the status.
Status
Active, suspended, withdrawn or expired. A status other than active means the record should not be read as present coverage.
Scope document
The detailed scope, when a file has been published. If no file is attached, the document is not yet published.
Last verified
The date on which the published record was last checked against the decision.
Audit trail
The published history of the record: grants, changes of scope, suspensions and other acts that AKZERT has approved for the directory.

If a record appears wrong

A person who believes a published record is mistaken, or who believes a record is missing, may write through the contact form and choose Publication and corrections, or Complaint. Describe the record and the discrepancy. The message is delivered only when the form says that delivery is configured.

A correction is made by amending the verified data and the audit trail. The website is not edited informally to suit a request.

Fragen

Does the absence of a body from the directory mean it is not competent?

No. It means this directory does not publish an accreditation for it. Competence may exist without being recorded here, and another accreditation body may publish its own record. This directory speaks only for the records it contains.

Can a suspended record still be used?

A suspended status means the accreditation is not to be read as active. The record explains the status. Users should not treat reports as accredited for the suspended scope while that status lasts. The precise effect on work already in progress would be set out in the conditions of accreditation, which are not yet published.
